Sugrue, The Trouble With Dreams 2019

Sugrue are without doubt one of our favourite English producers. Headed by husband-wife team Dermot and Ana Sugrue, they boast some of the best vineyards across Sussex and have been voted Britain's Best Boutique Producer in 2020, 2021 and 2023 at the WineGB awards. Simply put: they make some of the best English Sparkling Wine going and it's a winery we can't get enough of. The Trouble With Dreams 2019 is a traditional method sparkling wine made from a blend of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir taken from some of the best plots on the Storrington Priory, Cold Harbour and Mount Harry vineyards. Incredibly mineral, zesty, salty and moreish; it bursts with notes of green apple, ripe lemon, biscuit and stone. The palate is lively and vibrant, with a mouth-puckering acidity and lovely long finish. A knockout with oysters.
